Marisa has been teaching for eight years, with the majority of her teaching career spent instructing 9-12 grade English at Bronx Leadership Academy High School in New York. Prior to joining Bronx Academy, she spent one year teaching at Aeon-Amity English Schools in Kanagawa, Japan. Marisa holds a MS in Secondary English Education from Lehman College and a BA in English and American Literature from New York University. Her teaching philosophy employs literature as a means of interrogating the choices human beings make, challenging cultural norms, and envisioning alternative modes of thinking and behaving
