Mike has been teaching science and math at High Tech High Middle School in San Diego, CA since 2006.  He currently teaches 7th grade students.  Prior to working at High Tech, he led research teams of high school students on field research trips in Baja California, Mexico and guided UCSD students and program volunteers through 10-day adventure-based backpacking and kayaking orientations with as a Wilderness Outing Guide with Outback Adventure.  He holds Teaching Credential in Science from the High Tech High Intern Teacher Credentialing Program and a B.S. in Biology: Ecology, Behavior and Evolution from University of California, San Diego
