Carl Kalani Beyer, Dean of the School of Education, Pacific Oaks College

Dr. Carl Kalani Beyer is the Founding Dean of the School of Education at Pacific Oaks College in Pasadena, California and will bring 34 years in public education with him to South Africa. Prior to starting the School of Education at Pacific Oaks, Dr. Beyer was the dean of the School of Education at National University, as well as a Professor and Chair of the Teacher Education Department at Concordia University.
Along with teaching and administration, Carl has contributed an immense amount of research and writing to the field. Multicultural education, Native American education, training curriculum, education for Hawaiians, and higher education issues are among the numerous areas in which he has focused and produced more than 18 articles, a book and over 50 papers. Dr. Beyer received his BA in mathematics from Beloit College, his Masters in U.S. History from Northern Illinois, an MA in Education and MS in Management and Organizational Behavior from Benedictine University, and his Ph.D from the University of Illinois at Chicago in Curriculum Design. He has a breadth of experience and knowledge that we are thrilled to have with TWA.
