“I first visited South Africa ten years ago and have always dreamed of returning to spend time learning and teaching in local schools. I’m thrilled to have this opportunity! I have enjoyed working with a variety of students from all over the world and I can’t wait to meet the LEAP students. I enjoy watching the light bulbs turn on in students’ heads when they work on new and exciting projects, and sharing my passion for learning with others.”
Janna brings vast experience and enthusiasm to the program from High Tech Elementary school in San Diego. Traveling and teaching have been central to Janna’s life, from touring the world through Semester at Sea to teaching in Montreal and Japan. After attending Bowling Green State University where she majored in elementary education, Janna received her master’s degree in teacher leadership from High Tech High Graduate School of Education. Recently, Janna went on to become a founding staff member of High Tech Elementary in San Diego where she teaches second graders through project-based learning.
