2012 Teacher Training Fellow

“The lives of the students and teachers in South Africa are different than my own experiences. It may be difficult to build rapport with people whose lives are so different from my own, but I hope that we will unite through our common goal to improve education and through the pleasure of learning together.”

Laura is currently teaching math and science at High Tech Middle Media Arts in San Diego. She began her college career at University of San Diego studying biology and science but was soon inspired by a children’s literature class that she took on a whim and knew that the classroom was where she wanted to be. Teaching since 2006, Laura has continued to be sustained and motivated by the impact that educators have on children. She is looking forward to sharing the knowledge she has gained over years of teaching and gaining a more global perspective she can bring back to her classroom.
