“Helping young people achieve their unlimited potential by providing opportunity and encouragement comes quite naturally to me. I enjoy being part of a larger support system that moves our students forward. It is what drives me to explore other avenues that help encourage their success.”
Saraya got into teaching through helping her younger family members with their math problems and has not looked back since. She got her BA from Ramapo College in New Jersey and her Master’s in Public Administration from Metropolitan College of New York. Saraya has been teaching for the past five years and has been at KIPP Philadelphia Charter School since 2009. She is currently teaching the fifth grade, as well as coordinating Saturday School. Saraya can’t wait to travel to South Africa with TWA to help her grow as an educator and a person.
