Host a Fundraiser
Friends of Teach With Africa have had great success planning events which benefit the organization. Some examples include the Run For Teachers, the SAABC Golf Event, and San Francisco Tennis Club’s “Serve With Africa” tournament. Want to host a film event, stage a bake sale, raise money from a marathon, or donate your birthday? We’re happy to support you in any way we can!

Volunteer
We’re always looking for people who are passionate about improving education in Africa. Volunteer opportunities include Media/Marketing, Fundraising, Event Planing, General Admin and Bay Area Tutors. Contact Amy (amy@teachwithafrica.org) for more details.

Start a Scholarship
Mandy Edwards was poised to be great teacher until, at the age of 17, tragedy struck. Mandy’s legacy lives on, with the help of her mother, making it possible for American educators to work on the continent she loved. Read more about the Mandy Edwards scholarship here. Do you want to set up a memorial scholarship for a teacher? We’d love to help you.

Host a South African Teacher
Would your school be willing to host a teacher from South Africa for an exchange of teaching and learning? Every year, we bring a number of South African teachers to the U.S. to gain classroom experience abroad. If this is something you think you, your school or your students would benefit from—please contact us!

Attend an Event
One of the best ways to find out more about Teach With Africa and help spread the word about our mission to empower students and teachers in Africa is to attend an event in your area. If you’re interested in attending one of our local events, check out our event listings.

Apply to Be a Fellow
In 2011, Teach With Africa plans to send 25 teachers to five schools across South Africa—four LEAP campuses, as well as a pilot project at a rural village school near Kruger National Park. Specifically, we are looking for a small cohort of experienced and credentialed high school teachers in math, science and English who are supported by their schools and communities. Click here to download the 2011 Teach With Africa Fellow application.

Fund a Teacher
You can choose to directly support one of the educators participating in our African exchange of teaching and learning.

Nominate a School
Do you know a school in South Africa that would be willing to partner with us? Or, are you a school in the U.S. that would like to partner with us? We’d love to hear from you. You can send us a proposal for partnership to teach.with.africa@gmail.com.
